Week 4 Reading Reflection
I found this week's reading to be very interesting. Starting with the title of the chapter Innovation: The Creative Pursuit of Ideas has already got me hooked. Identifying opportunities is essentially what leads towards entrepreneurship. Identifying trends, patterns, problems, and concepts are what this chapter helps explain. Something that stood out in the reading would be the most common idea killers. I found this to be really useful, and I'll be sure not to use those phrases again while speaking with people. If I could ask the author two questions it would be 1) Is technology the future of entrepreneurship? 2) Have you noticed over the years you have written the textbook the changes in children's and students creativity and thought process with identifying problems and solving them? I would be curious to know how our educational system affects the creativity of students.

I believe our top problem our world faces today is poverty. The simple truth is that 22,000 children die each day because they cannot afford to eat, or to drink clean water. More than 3 Billion people live on less than $2.50. As an advanced culture and society, we can fix this problem and create new sources for food and clean water. I also believe that we need to stop using carbon and our fossil fuels due to the rate at which the earth has been warming at. Building water stations and filtration systems around the world will save lives. That is a fact. We are in an era of technological advancements, we should be using it to help others. I think that this is the most implementable due to the amount of success the world's 67 richest people alone have done. According to Forbes New website it is stated that the world's richest 67 people have the same net worth as 3.5 billion of the world's poorest people. That is also half of the world's population.

Week 3 Reading Reflection
During this week's reading the biggest surprises for me would include the amount of detail and stress
involved in structuring the work environment. Having to keep in mind management support, autonomy/
work discretion, rewards/reinforcement, time availability, and organizational boundaries is a lot to deal
with at a single time. This caught me off guard because I never took into consideration the environment
my peers will be working on has an impact on their productivity. A part of the reading that I personally
found confusing would include preparing management. When starting a business or leading a team it is
important in picking the right team members, and diversifying the group to produce innovative thinking,
positive productivity and supporting the group. I found this confusing because besides interviews, how
well do you really know someone and making these upper level decisions has me confused. If I could ask
the author anything it would be was ventures they can started in their life? What has failed? and What has
succeeded? I do not necessarily disagree with anything the author has to say mainly because he is much more
educated on economics than I am and I would feel intimidated trying to disagree and debate a topic with the
author. Overall it was an interesting read, not my favorite of text material, but not not the worst I have ever
read either.

Who has the Problem: The victim will probably be traumatized and will need to undergo treatment and therapy, while Mr. Nurse will spend a long time in prison for his acts.

Billy Borndorf of Apple Marketing CO
Billy is an entrepreneur who started his own marketing company. By word of mouth, a clean reputation, and strong relationships he has been able to succeed with his business.
1. What was the most difficult part of starting a business?
"The uncertainty of whether or not it would be successful. That is probably the main thing. Also the capitalization of starting a business and the concern in getting the capital and providing during the lean times before the business taking off. The lean times were difficult in starting the business."
2. If you could go back 25 years, what would you do differently?
"I would probably network with people in my industry more than I did back then by going to trade shows and meeting with industry people, and getting to know them better. So having a stronger network of work back then."
3. How do you advertise your business?
"I don't. My business isn't advertized but rather word of mouth and reputation. So I keep a clean reputation and I make strong connections along with clean deals."
Reflection interviewing Billy
Interviewing Billy and generally just speaking with him is a pleasure. His is witty, funny, but serious about business. It was intriguing to learn that if he could go back 25 years he would network more. Thinking about that made me realize that those years he was talking about are the years I am living in now.

Week 2 Reading Reflection
Entrepreneurship: Evolutionary Development- Revolutionary Impact was week 2's reading. After getting a late start on the weekly readings I went into the reading feeling a bit rushed. The first thing I noticed that stood out to me was the definition that was given about Entrepreneurship. "Entrepreneurs are individuals who recognize opportunity, where others see chaos, contradiction, and confusion." (Kuratko 3). I found it interesting that entrepreneurs are ones who see and recognize opportunity in chaos, and after thinking about that statement for a while, i began to realize the author was right. If I could personally ask the author anything it would be 1. What start-up businesses have you created in your lifetime? 2. Why did you choose to write a college textbook with your time, rather than use your skills to start something new, or revolutionary? I did not find anything that I disagree with the author about mainly because the detail the text goes into is well beyond my knowledge for the course and my knowledge about the economy.
Bug List
1. Old people may drive slower than the speed limit because they are more cautious and wise than younger drivers.
2. Waiting in line for food everyday is annoying but it keeps a lot of people from causing a mess and it controls the pace.
3. When people don't use their blinker signal when making a turn, but they may just not remember due to drivings busy demands.
4. A cold toilet seat, but that must be due to convection.
5. Talking on the phone and you just want to hang up but the other person keeps rambling on and on and on, but they could just be excited to talk to you.
6. Having to leave a warm bed after a night's sleep to go pee when you know you should have gone the night before but your bed was to comfy. More self discipline can help fix this problem.
7. Doing busy work for a class that the information does not even pertain to. But maybe the professor wanted to enlighten one even more.
8. Using crutches up and down stairs and you just hold up everyone behind you trying to get up or down, but that is due to the stairs not being wide enough.
9. UF campus wide is 20 mph, but that helps save student lives from reckless student drivers
10. When your phone is on 1% and there's no way to get to a charger so you just take the loss and observe your surroundings and you become more self aware.
11. When all you want to eat is breakfast but it is dinner time and no one wants breakfast for dinner but you, so you go to a diner to be satisfying to all because everyone's opinion should be heard.
12. It is raining and you think your going to melt but scientifically you know you're just going to get wet and have to deal with it.
13. Walking into class wet, bring a change of cloths because cotton absorbs liquids and you become wet when it rains.
14. When your phone blinds you in the morning the first time you look at it as the alarm is blasting to wake you up from your cozy bed that you do not want to leave. The bright light is harsh on the eyes receptors after hibernating for a few hours.
15. When people chomp their food and eat with an open mouth, clearly someone never has learned proper and polite manners.
16. People pulling a fire alarm for amusement is very dangerous and causes a ruckus for those having to evacuate,
17. When my car gets dirty, probably from people tracking in mud and dirt from their shoes.
18. When my socks don't match but I am to lazy to change them so you suffer the consequence and move on with your life.
19. When your socks match but your shoes are scuffed after just purchasing them, but soon to realize shoes are meant to be worn and that they don't stay clean for long.
20. Standardize testing used to compare students abilities of what they have learned when there are other means of testing one's knowledge.

Reflection
I found this assignment to be confusing in the sense that one isn't accustomed to this type of thinking, and think about what bugs one and the causes to it. I enjoyed thinking about what bothers me, because I can reflect and realize how many things really bother myself. Ive learned through this assignment to be more accepting because we do not know the cause to people actions many times, and jumping to conclusions and making excuses will only hold you back.

My Entrepreneurship Story
A time in my life when I have been exposed to entrepreneurship could include the time my dad took me to an inventors fair while I was in the third grade. It was composed of middle and high school students, so to me they were pretty cool. I saw inventions and ideas that seemed crazy, and out of this world, but at that time my imagination was running wild. It wasn't until my sophomore year in college when I decided to switch from being a biology major or a business major that the opportunities that business can lead to and specifically the concept of entrepreneurship led me to join ENT3003. I like the freedom of the class, and specifically the unconventional style of how the course is taught. I hope to become more self disciplined, but also more self forgiving in this class, as I plan to take more risks than I normally do.

My name is Michael Sacks and I am originally from West Bloomfield Michigan, which is considered Metro Detroit. I grew up about 25 minutes outside of Detroit and I love visiting as much as possible when I am home. I have one sister Jamie, who recently graduated from Michigan State University and is now currently in pharmacy school at Nova Southeastern University. I am a sophomore who recently switched into the business school and will be majoring in Business Administration with a specialization being decided later. I enjoy hanging out with friends, and playing sports in my offtime. I enjoy UF as a student and look forward to the years that I have left.

First Post 1/7/15
Hello Everyone!
My name is Michael Sacks and this is my first ever post to a blog. Not really sure what to expect or how this works yet, but a little about myself is that I am a student at The University of Florida. This blog was created for a class I am currently taking, ENT3003: Principles of Entrepreneurship. I grew up in Metro Detroit Michigan and am a sophomore who recently switched into the Heavener School of Business.
